Bass Pro Shop

Today Mom took us to Bass Pro Shop for her birthday.  At first I was understandably excited at all the new smells but it only took a few minutes before it was all old hat.  After all, none of the animals were real and I couldn't get to the fish!  I most enjoyed the glass elevator.  The ground would just drop out from underneath us!

We also had a play date with Janie and her guide, Kiko.  Kiko is my best buddy so far as we get to play together every couple of weeks or so.  She's been shrinking lately even though Janie says she's put on a few pounds.  Mom says I'm the one who's been growing.  Who knew?

Weekend Update

This past weekend was a busy one!  It started on Friday evening with our local Puppies and Pizza meeting.  Lots of new dogs to try to ignore while doing our obedience training.  Luckily after the meeting I got to go out in the yard and play with them.  We had five of us all trying to get one toy!  I think it started as a cloth frisbee with rope around the outside but it ended up as straggly bits of rope and a scrap of blue cloth.  FUN!

On Saturday we went to the air museum.  Mom loaded us up and went to March Field Museum.  We had the parking lot to ourselves since we were so early so Mom had me out doing lots of obedience practice.  I managed to flush some pheasant - and Mom said I couldn't chase them!  Turns out we needed to be at the Palm Springs Air Museum!  So we loaded up and headed over there.  It was a great big group and we had lots of fun.  We went to the air museum, the GDD Depot and then the Fish Market for lunch before heading back home.  I got to see a lot of the same new friends from the puppy meeting and more new friends from the Palm Springs area.

Me and my buddies, Grace (left) and Moto (right).
Then Sunday Mom took me to work with her as always.  There was a puppy obedience class so Mom took me over there.  I'm getting much better at working around other dogs without sniffing them.  I even won a 'Simon Says' game and got a prize!  Then Sunday night was a birthday party for Mom and I got to come out and work on greeting people calmly.  It was hard work and I need more practice but I'm definitely starting to show some improvement.

Toy Store!

I went to a toy store today where all the toys are out for the kids to enjoy. Mom couldn't pass up on this opportunity! Here's a few pics...

One of these is not like the others...

It's small, it moves, makes noise - what do
you mean "Leave it"?!?

C'mon, Mom, really?

Mom adds:  There wasn't an elastic or anything to hold the hat on his head so I was quite proud of him for holding so still.  I was able to take several pictures with a couple of different hats!

Hmmm... Well...

Lowe posing with Santa and Lexie

Now I know why mom hasn't posted pictures of me from Christmas - there aren't any!  Well, OK, there are two.  The first is at the GDD Puppy Raiser Christmas Party and the second is in front of our tree at home just before Mom took it down - not on Christmas but in front of the Christmas tree.  Does that count??

Today I went to my first puppy class!  And I shined - literally!  Mom gave me a bath just before we headed over there and I was still a bit damp.  Mom was worried about my behavior around all these other dogs but I don't know what she was worried about.  She said be good and I was.  Just that simple!  I got to see my sister, Lexie, again today.  She seems to be getting smaller.  She's around 35-40 lbs so I'm nearly twice her size at 65 lbs.  There were lots of dogs my size but we couldn't play because Mom needed to get back to work.  That's OK because I will get to see them every week for a while now while class is running.  And I'll get to see a bunch of them on the 15th of this month when we go down to March ARB to look through the airplane museum and grab lunch.  Sounds like fun!

Dinner.  Dinner.  Hey, Mom, dinner.

Happy New Year!

I have no idea what that means - it was business as usual for me!  Went to work with Mom, got home, had supper, played for a while and headed for bed.  Mom decided to work on my skateboard aversion again at work.  This time I jumped a bit at first but then ran right up and sniffed the skateboard and started to chase it a bit when Mom would roll it.  Celebration!  On to the skate park on Monday, I believe.

Mom needs to put up Christmas photos, don't you think?  Don't worry, I'll remind her!!
